The Snap & Viewbuilder Essentials course is third in the Controls Expert Training Series. This course will provide a technician the fundamentals of programming and custom graphics.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, each student should be able to:
SNAP Essentials:
- Describe the different types of microblocks
- Define microblock properties
- Read a sequence of operations and translate it to a program
- Simulate a program to find errors
- Modify a control program
- Edit properties pages
Viewbuilder Essentials:
- Tour the workspace and tools
- Add an image
- Add a symbol
- Align, arrange and draw objects
- Place controls to display live values
- Explore the symbol library
Work with equipment graphics
- Edit a graphic to match a control program
- Change the workspace size
- Upgrade to the latest graphics library symbols
- Working with Layers
- Show/Hide a Layer’s objects
- Using Local Variables in conditional expressions
- Program variable color text
- Show/Hide a Control
- Create a .touch file
Work with floorplan graphics
- Program the floor plan graphics
- Program the thermographic summary graphic
- Add more zones to a floorplan
Training Methods Used
This course uses a combination of classroom lecture, demonstrations using the controls simulators, computer lab and workshops to present the material. Student’s achievement of the learning objectives is determined by successful completion of the workshops, and final written exam. Workshops are instructor guided exercises using the procedures taught in the lectures.
Prerequisites
You must complete and have passed the Carrier Comfort Systems (CS) & Carrier i-Vu Systems (IS) class to attend this course.
Completion requirements
To receive a certificate for this course student must be present for the entire course, complete all workshops and receive a grade of 70% on graded final.
Class hours
Class starts at 8 AM and runs until 5 PM each day that training is scheduled. All commercial control classes are multiple days in duration. Travel arrangements should be made accordingly.
Food
We will be providing coffee, water, and a light snack that can be consumed through the day as well as a catered lunch.
Class cost
$1400 per student
